Business situation
A fast moving consumer goods customer was experiencing regular breakdowns due to newly installed, well known A-brand Duplex 1440/8M/30 belts regularly tearing apart within a relatively short time from being mounted. The belts that were in use in 30 machines had to be replaced every other month.
Business approach
We identified the Gates Twin Power 1440/8M/30 belts as a suitable alternative and delivered the belts within 24 hours. The belts were replaced on 30 engines. As a result, the machines’ downtimes were avoided during production.
Outcome / saving
The downtime and material loss was calculated to be €6,660 for each engine transmission belt. The total cost saving was calculated for all 30 engines.
