As part of the Group’s growth strategy, Rubix has acquired SCR Tools, which includes a majority stake in tooling services provider S.A.I.FRA International.
Founded in 1999 and located in Brescia, with a branch in Bergamo, SCR is an established distributor of cutting tools and associated products and services.
The business holds a majority stake in S.A.I.FRA International, a supplier of specialist tools and regrinding services, based in Bologna.
Together, the businesses have 40 employees and generated sales of €16m in 2021.
Sergio Comini and Paolo Sorrentino are SCR’s largest shareholders, and will both remain with Rubix, taking leadership roles within the tools business.
Commenting on the acquisition, Tiziano Biasoli, CEO of Rubix in Italy, said: “I look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to Rubix and to working with them as we build on our existing capabilities in the tools category.
“Their technical expertise and specialist services expand the offer we can take to our existing customers. Likewise, SCR’s customers will benefit from the wide range of products and services across multiple product categories that are available from the broader Rubix group.”
Sergio Comini, MD of SCR, added: “I’m delighted to be joining the Rubix family along with my colleagues, and look forward to the next phase of growth.
“Our specialism complements the existing Rubix offer, and makes it even stronger, while our customers will clearly benefit from the wider offer available to them now that we’re part of Europe’s leading industrial distribution business.”
