As part of the Group’s growth strategy, Rubix has acquired fluid power specialist Somi.
Founded in 1977 and located in Bolzano, north-east Italy, Somi is a well-regarded distributor of fluid power and flow components including hoses and fittings, and hydraulic and pneumatic products.
The business also delivers a range of complementary services including hose cutting and assembly, cylinder repairs, custom-made hydraulic aggregates and pneumatic application design.
With 47 employees, the business delivered sales of c.€15m in 2023.
Igor Menegot, MD of Somi , will remain with the business to oversee a period of transition. Once the transition is complete Christian Defransceschi, Commercial Manager, and Luca Chini, Technical Manager, will continue to lead the business.
