As part of the Group’s growth strategy, Rubix has acquired Procomin – the holding company of the Vermeire group of companies – one of Belgium’s leading distributors of power transmission solutions.
A family business founded in 1946, headquartered in Verviers with a subsidiary in Gent, and currently managed by the third generation, Vermeire also includes French pulley specialist Serax and Aciers Crustin, a cold drawn steel supplier based in Belgium.
Together, the businesses delivered €30m of sales in 2021 with 67 employees working across three sites in Belgium and one in France.
Vermeire is a highly technical power transmission business with a particular specialism in motors, gearboxes, mechanical power transmission, drives and integrated motion solutions.
A unique stock offer is complemented by a range of services including geared motor assembly, cutting and calibrating of linear products, belt and chain cutting, and integrated systems design and prototyping for motion control.
The team’s expertise has resulted in long-standing relationships with suppliers and customers; both original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and those with maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) requirements, including electric motor repair shops.
Current executive directors Roland, Benoit and Anne Vermeire will continue to lead the business as a Rubix company.
