Business situation
A car manufacturer transports vehicles using conveyors with hooks, controlled by a camera that uses the hooks as points of reference.
The hooks became corroded, leaving the camera unable to identify the hook, leading to stops in production.
Business approach
Rubix suggested that when given a suitable ceramic coating, the camera could always identify the hooks. Loctite was then responsible for coating the hooks and testing the system.
The success of this system has led to other lines at the plant undergoing the same upgrade.
